I don't think Daniel was being sensitive at all - Dave was being an idiot. I also think Daniel probably felt pressure to diffuse the situation by saying he was being sensitive due to the fact that 1) it's uncomfortable and being streamed live and 2) Dave Chappelle is hugely famous and Daniel Ceasar is still up and coming in the music industry.
