she's still one of my favorite artists to this day. i got a tattoo of the title of her song "strong enough" and tweeted it to her a few years ago and she liked it and i nearly cried

Oh god. 2003 was the year I graduated HS and started college. There was some good music but not a lot of it is on this list lol. Norah Jones is A+ though.

i was in 8th grade in 2003. i remember playing stacie orrico's stuck 24/7!! i think this was about the time i got into stuff like sufjan, radiohead (because my older brother played them constantly), broken social scene, tv on the radio and then emo stuff. bopped hard to michelle branch's hotel paper and all of britney's in the zone.

I was so obsessed with The Darkness back then. I remember my art teacher once had a magazine on her desk with a The Darkness poster in it, and I gave my friend $5 to distract her by faking a heart attack so I could steal the magazine when she wasn't looking. haha
