I have PMDD and being on stacked birth control throughout the year was the best option for me. Otherwise, danger zone once a month.

same, my cravings go crazy, my boobs are super sensitive, and i'm exhausted--like drained 24/7. i'm so behind on schoolwork right now because i've been cramping/fatigued so badly all i can concentrate on is lying down. and i'm heavier than usual so thats fun too.

Same!! I'm about to get my third. The insertion is an absolute bitch, worst internal pain I've ever felt. I'm going to ask for a sedative and cervical softener this time, hopefully that will help. One bad day is totally worth years of worry free BC though.

omg same re: insertion pain with mirena. prior to getting the IUD i had a D&C to try to check for abnormalities and try to reset my period, and the doctor prescribed me like ONE heavy-duty pain pill for that... but she prescribed nothing for mirena insertion, which, after going through both, seems INSANE to me. the D&C hurt basically just as much as the mirena insertion. both times i was like "well, this is the worst pain i've ever experienced." it hurt SOOO bad lmfao. i definitely want to get it again when my time with my current mirena is up (assuming it's covered over whatever terrible insurance plan i have then) but holy shit i'm going to demand a sedative next time

I'm on the pill now and I hate how depressed it makes me feel. I have good months, but last month was SO bad my bf thought I was going insane because I was crying all the time for stupid little things, ugh, i really hate it.

I really would like to understand and be able to manage things a little better, know what’s happening in my body, and know what I’m putting into it.

If only there was a person who studied this part of the body extensively and was a professional paid to give you advice, information and guidance on what's going on down there and the best way to address it. A vaginologist, if you will.

But that's not what she said. She didn't say "I've been to countless doctors and none of them have an answer for this." I'm sorry you've had terrible experiences and it's totally a problem that some of them throw birth control pills at every single problem without investigating either the problem or the pills properly. But she's not you or me or her friends; she's got oodles of money to go see some of the best gynecologists if she wanted to.
