Actually think they could have gone harder on this one. Lol @ "Even though the film punishes everyone who tries to be a good person" - it's true.

same. I hated a quiet place with a fiery passion. I guess because I spent more time building it up in my mind, where bird box popped up on netflix and I said ok i'll watch that without knowing anything about it.

but I hated a quiet place so much.

Same. For some reason the holes in AQP annoyed me more.

okay, did I have a different version of the movie or what? There were so many scenes in this trailer I don't remember at all seeing in the movie

Sandra Bullock's character was so mean to the little girl that it fucked me up for a couple of days lol :( Especially when [Spoiler (click to open)]she said someone will have to look on the river and the girl knew it was her and then there was no resolution and it really needed it. idk, the movie really upset me more than I thought it would.

I only saw that in a video of someone reacting to the movie and I was like yikes

I wish they had been more upfront with that part somehow. Like they set up the whole "someone is going to have to look" thing but then never take it to the final conclusion which is that whoever looks will certainly kill themselves afterwards and will be a sacrifice for the greater good. [Spoiler (click to open)]They sort of imply it, but not really and then she just risks all three of their lives just to avoid making the choice. I probably would have done the same, though, so I can't criticize.

the irony is that in the book, she does not display any animosity toward the little girl and never says "someone is going to have to look" but instead her inner monologue is all about how she's going to have to look at some point to make sure they take the right fork in the river. she looks, and steers them the right way then puts her blindfold on and that's it.
