For as much as musicians say they don’t care about awards they have their moment where they want that validation.

i think artists and performers creating music want a sense of validation in some form early on in their careers, but being inducted into the rock & roll hall of fame always comes after career peak for the inductees; once they've already attained undeniable critical and commercial success.

radiohead is an artistic and commercial legend that has and will be referenced for current and future generations of musicians and performers and thom yorke still gives no fucks because that's not why he or anyone else is radiohead makes music.

Whew the stan came out sis.

I was mostly referencing him saying that he wouldn’t mind an Oscar nod for best score since he spent a year on it. I thought it was interesting since they tend to be w/e about awards but he’s making a exception in this instance.

deal with me!

i think that has more to do with how personally challenged he was working on the project. he turned down luca guadagnino's offer to score suspiria several times because he didn't think he would be able to meet the challenges he's never dealt with before to compose a score and original music for a film. i think he takes a different sense of pride in terms of what he was able to accomplish being in different artistic territory and mostly on his own.

The fact that the higher profile members have transitioned into film composers demonstrates how irrelevant and out of touch these white bois are. Yuck.

All hail Stevie Nicks as queen of the ceremony!!

Yeah, I don't get the comment either. Maybe because they've been blase about awards before but Greenwood attended the Oscar ceremony and Thom wants one?

if they were still relevant in indie rock, they would tour and put out more material.

I figured they weren’t showing up so it’s no surprise. Them also didn’t show up when I’ve seen it all was nominated.

I love their snobby asses
