YIKES! I am so sorry! Yeah, I get the hesitation with not wanting to open up here. I still feel a sense of anonymity due to my icon not being me lol

ugh. I’m sorry to hear it. It is better to distance yourself from this place and not take it seriously. Once user wished me sexual harassment because of my comments here.

i'm sorry you had to deal with that bb. and i get it, it seems like mental health is something people will still use against others on here.

I was just thinking about mental health in general! That's good for wealthy, famous folks to tell others to get help, but they really need to acknowledge that very few folks have access to money like they do. I'd love to go to therapy, get on meds, etc. but I'm barely making it rn, so I have to put my MI on the backburner.

I hated myself for being depressed, I hated feeling depressed, I hated feeling. I was very good at disassociating from emotion completely.

I can definitely relate to that. I was at the lowest this March. It was bad, like real bad. I'm in a better place rn, but it's a constant battle and the worst thing is that depression never leaves. It just sits and waits to strike again when you're at your most vulnerable. I fucking hate it. I keep fighting tho.

I always say that depression never really leaves you. But you can push it to the back of the queue and have a successful and very happy life if you work hard to manage it. I kind of stopped fighting the idea of having depression and I learned to acknowledge that I have it, it is what it is, but it is a small part of my existence so if it comes back for some reason I need to manage it and it will go away.

I totally get it. There are moments where I feel it's coming back like waves, trying to drown me. It's such a miserable state, and I try so fucking hard to fight it every damn time I feel it's trying to resurface. It's a constant struggle, but for now I manage.

I've learned to make depression my early-warning system. When I feel myself beginning to dip, I ask myself what's bringing this on. Often, I just need to take care of myself--eat better, get some exercise, get some sleep, etc. Sometimes, it's homesickness (I'm far from home right now), and I need to connect with friends and family to feel better. Sometimes, it's hormones. And sometimes, it's Hell If I Know. Depression's going to be my constant companion in life. It might as well make itself useful.

started taking meds last month and I feel great. Going back to my psychiatrist tuesday. I used to only do therapy and it was good for years, but with 2018 politics here I got bad and my family interfered and now I'm with this new treatment with meds.
