No one owes you their time. I don’t know why this is so hard for people to comprehend.

Why do people act like fans harassing actors, is giving them something they want?

Oh, I'm not saying "well, you're famous so you've to put all with all the shit that fans do". So many people think they can cross the line with celebs and it's sf wrong, entitled and disgusting tbh I'm just saying that dealing with fame (i.e: interact with fans, etc) is part of their job.

Especially Rami Malek. He seems like a pretty introverted person. He's promoting a movie right now but he doesn't seem thirsty for fame like a lot of other actors.

Meryl Streep and Robert DeNiro have never catered to fans the way you seem to think actors are required to, and they are two of the top actors of all time.

They've both done all they could to maintain a private life out of the spotlight and they don't do "meet and greets," or sign endless autographs at premieres. They don't go on endless talk shows, they only go when they have a film in theaters and they're required to do that kind of promotion. They don't invite ET into their home for interviews, they aren't constantly thirsting on IG, and they don't sell their private lives.

They are actors, they do their jobs, and go about their lives and they have zillions of fans based on their talent. They didn't get into acting because they wanted to be famous celebrities, they did it because they are actors. They act. You don't need a huge fan base to do that, and shy people don't want to be interacting with fans. You can be shy and be an actor at the same time. It's a job, not a lifestyle choice.

there's a difference between how they react, and rami wasn't rude.
if he had been rude and offered nothing else in return then it would be different. but he was nice and offered her a photo.

the actors who are blatantly rude to their fans (aka the reason for their riches $$$) are the real assholes, i can't stand actors who are above signing shit for their fans that'll turn me off anyone

I agree, I almost thought he came off as not prepared for a video.
He was expected a selfie, realized it was a video and wasn't okay with that.
Not rude at all.

I mean, their job is actor not celebrity. As long as they act, and I enjoy their products, I don’t care if they take dan photos or not.

People here are always so weirdly defensive of celebrities

Its not about defending celebrities, it's about disagreeing on what their job entails.

I'm not talking about this specific instance, I just mean in general.

Cause they're... people. And no person deserves to be harassed.

being liked by the public. If no one likes you, they won't watch you and no one will hire you

i think this is more true of musicians and social media ppl but not so much actors. i don't need to like an actor to watch their film or tv show. (but i won't watch anything if they are garbage ppl.)

Yea that hasn't been a thing since the 90s when people would go see "a Julia Roberts movie", there has definitely been a shift.
