I saw A Star is Born a couple of days ago, which I loved, despite having a few issues with it. Still can't decide if I'm gonna see Suspiria or not. I just noticed Juliet, Naked is online now so I might watch it tonight, it looks cute.

Yeah, ASIB isn't perfect, but it's pretty damn good! I'm glad I can root for it, since it's obviously gonna do well at awards time. It's much less fun when the film/actors with the most buzz are ones that I don't like at all.

Haha, I'm gonna see Suspiria on Saturday, even though body horror freaks me the fuck out. So... RIP, me!

Yeah the body horror in Hereditary was traumatising enough for me, and I hear there's a truly horrific scene in Suspiria with cracking bones and stuff? Idk if I can handle that.

nothing but gonna try my best for suspiria somehow. burning's getting amazing reviews so if that expands i'll try for that as well

good on london fields getting a 0 RT, it looks fucking TERRIBLE

ok it's weird to say i won't see anything, but only because i did a back-to-back yesterday of mid90s (good but damn slow down all the swearing jonah) and 'what they had' (good but sad and depressing; i always forget how great an actor hillary swank is)

Glad you liked Mid90's as well! There was a lot of swearing, for sure. And WTH looked soooooo depressing, my god.

Yeah, looking into that London Fields movie was interesting! I had never heard of it (or at least don't remember hearing of it), but it's full of names and looks absolutely awful.

i was so uncomfortable when the kid and the teen hooked up, like he's fucking 10 and that skeezed me out a bit. but underneath all that damn swearing there was a sweet story of friendship and growing up which i could appreciate. i dunno why but i expected lucas hedges' role to be bigger but he's relegated to the big brother? their relationship was both realistic and hella fucked up

what they had is super depressing, but i really enjoyed the sibling relationship between hillary and michael shannon's characters. i feel like movies/tv don't depict siblings as they are in real life (and so much more serious business or dramatic) so it was nice to see them go through a lot of real life shit but still be a dumb brother and sister with each other lmao

i remember seeing a trailer for it and it looked like such trash, but i always found amber heard as such an overrated and mediocre actor that ugh i wish she'd stop

[Spoiler (click to open)]Omg, that scene was painful and could have easily cut/minimized. Someone asked him about it at the Q&A, obviously, and he basically said that he included it to show that toxic masculinity leads to boys/young men doing sexual things for terrible reasons (social currency, admiration) instead of because they want to, which like, I GET, but the scene could have cut much sooner and I would have been good with that.

Ahhhh! :D Yours is the reaction I am most looking forward to reading, tbh!! The reviews are SO divided, but that was to be expected, I think.
