I think if they had never had a discussion about it, I would just chalk it up to one parent making a decision on something but he deliberately went behind the Mom’s back against her wishes and did that and that is very fucked up. It may seem like just ear piercing to some, but I feel like this is just the start to the potential of going behind her back and doing things she is against.

That's exactly what it is.  And the angrier she gets the more he'll do.

I never got my ears pierced. Just never had a desire for it.

Same. I used to want to get them pierced when I was younger and it seemed like most of the girls in my class had pierced ears (my parents were against it), but then as an adult I just never ended up caring that much about it

8 months? a year?

idr but thank god I don't tbh because I pierced my cartilage in high school and it took multiple attempts of trying to keep it open over 10 years for it to finally heal without it started to get infected

Yeah, it took my cartilage piercing like 3 years to finally not get infected all the damn time. It was so annoying, but I feel like I could have saved myself a lot of time and trouble if I just took out the earring and let it heal for like two days instead of being too scared that it would close up (after getting it pierced for like a year ishh).

My first cartilage piercing got infected really bad and for so long, eventually I just took the earring out and let the hole close up. Then I got it re-pierced a little higher up and have never had a problem with it since.

i had one for like 2 years and took it out before starting med school interviews. i mostly used that as an excuse to get rid of it because it never healed over that time. now i have a keloid to remember it by. it was so cute tho i kinda wanna try again :(

I got my ears pierced about a week after I was born. It's pretty much expected where I'm from.
