God, I love this OTT show. I'm happy that the vampire hobbit is still alive (kinda) and (not)breathing.

I am digging Lindsay Duncan in this role, reminds me of Servilia. I miss Rome. I think a rewatch is in order soon.

Honestly, what is this show doing to me that even Baldwin is one of my favorite characters.

At this point I'm only really meh about the daemons. But all the vampires could get it.

Yeah, I like most of the vampires. Baldwin, Hobbit, Matthew, that dark Italian/Arabic-ish fella who got his leg broken, they could all get it.

Juliette and Miriam are also well cast because their faces are like works of art.

But I even like Hamish. He looks cuddly and sweet.

The books were... what they were, depending on your taste/interest but I think the show is improving on the general feel. I love it and I hope it gets renewed!

Yeah, they've basically blown out any of the plot the books had, complicated it, and then toned down the more boring or goofy aspects of the book.

And if this episode is anything to go by, they have finally cooled down the exposition (although maybe at the wrong time because the mating/bundling stuff was probably mad confusing for non readers).

I guess I'm the only one who doesn't want Gillian to die lol. Idk, I like how mad she is about this all and if Matthew had killed her that would've been bad for his relationship with Diana. I was scared she was dead since she looked grey towards the end of the scene where he bites her so I was relieved when we found out she was alive.

Speaking of Matthew/Diana they continue to move at a breakneck pace lmao. I'm wondering where they're going to go for the second season since they've already declared their love and shit. I don't know anything about the books but I've seen the second one goes back in time? Ngl I hope they don't do that for the show and do their own thing because that doesn't really appeal to me but I guess we'll have to see how things go. Hopefully the ratings are good enough for another season.

I guess I'm more confused about what they'll do with her. Because if she was nearly murdered by Matthew, in some ways that's even harder for Diana to overlook of brush off because she's there, making them both remember what he did.

They go at this crazy stupid Love pace in the books, too. It makes just as much sense there as it does here tbh, although the show is being good about having all the supporting characters giving them massive side eyes which helps.

Arguably Matthew mates so early with Diana in the hopes that it makes it harder for the congregation to separate them, but. Whatever. I'm trash for this and it works for me

I feel like it's better she's still around because for me killing her would be stepping way over the line, and it'd be a downer for me personally for Diana to still be so ~in lurve with Matthew after he killed her friend (or at least the closest thing to one we've seen). Maybe I'm just taking this silly cheesy show too seriously heh. At least he had a reason for attacking her though since it was over her breaking into the lab, so when Diana does find out there's that factor.

It does help that people think they're crazy for going this fast, and I suppose I don't really have a problem with it (their amazing chemistry does the heavy lifting tbh) but it just makes me wonder what they're going to do in the future since normally there's more build-up to stretch things out. Hopefully they've got a plan though.

In your comment above you said the mating stuff would be confusing for non-readers and you got that right, could you give me a little info about it? It seems I'm probably missing some details.

That's a good point about Gillian. He kills her off in the books and Diana kind of shrugs it off, and that never sat right with me
