Dee gets in with a group of cool, rich housewives. Dennis hits it off with some everyday blue-collar bros. Frank struggles to renew his license, and Charlie and Mac deal with a new generation of bicycle bullies.
...I was really shocked by the last episode. It was really tone deaf and felt inappropriate given what's going on with the #MeToo movement. Like I get that their schtick is very like on the nose, edgy, in your face offensive... but this felt a little too far for me!
I thought it was great that the gang was finally called out for their sexual harassment and predatory history, because that's been a looooong time coming.
It really lost it's point when it was revealed that Dennis was behind the whole seminar and that nobody really stood up for themselves or called him out on his bullshit. I love Dennis at his most psychopathic, but he's way funnier when he thinks he's being manipulative or superior, only for it all to come crashing down around him.
i usually just catch up on the show after it hits netflix, but this season so far seems so grossly mean-spirited (which...even for IASIP it feels extreme) that i'm thinking it's time to cut my losses.
YES! this is 100% accurate. it's always had a guys-vs-dee vibe to some degree, but now it just seems like everyone loathes each other and it's honestly kind of uncomfortable to watch. the way everybody hates mac creeps me out.
