i know the 2nd one is not as good. But i loved the Poppyland shooting scene:

While I like the murder!husband-ness of it, I have to say the church scene from the first was better.

I really do not understand how the quality dipped so fast, the first one was soooo good.

Fundamentally, a bad script.

But you know it kind of reminds me of Austin Powers. The first movie was good, it was a parody of the 60's spy caper films and TV but it was good. There was some potty humor that detracted but you could ignore it and just enjoy a really thoughtful, heartfelt parody.

The second movie started out by immediately gutting everything that was good about the first movie and then it went in for the potty humor. Third one went further down that train if I recall but I noped on seeing it in the theater.

Sometimes I think the people behind the scenes just don't understand what they did right in the first place. See also: Heroes, season 1 vs all the rest of the franchise.

I really want to like this series more than I do. I love the idea and Taron and Colin are great, but the juvenile humor kills it for me.

I read the plot of the second one so for me the entire series ends at the end of the first movie but BEFORE the Swedish princess scene.

I was a huge advocate for the first movie, save for that end scene. I just pretend the second film didn't happen.
