maybe with the early start date, the thirsty wanna-be-relevant shows like the critics choice awards will just cease to exist. one can hope.

Honestly I don’t mind this as much as others do. Seems this will hurt the behind the scenes campaigning more than anything.

I would think this is gonna make it more difficult for the stars of these films to hit all of the award ceremonies and parties and lunches and bullshit, they're gonna have to pick and choose. Especially with shows like the BAFTAs that are physically further away.
