Through my maternal grandmother’s line we have a few guys that were advisors to the Tudors. One was executed by Henry VIII.
On my paternal side we have Scandinavian ancestors that go back to Ragnar Lothbrok, though I don’t know how accurate that is.

Also, does it affect how you think about yourself and your family - and do you think it should?
If most of the world is 'descended' from peasants, does it make you special?

I’ve always been really interested in genealogy, and I did my research through the Mormon church’s records, it’s free to use and they have lots of classes you can go to, to understand good researching.
The Ragnar Lothbrok one I give the least amount of credence to, just because it’s so far back that I think lineages were probably fabricated to tie people to someone of note back then.

Also I'm a descendant of the Borgias (through Giovanni, the lamest one) and King Ferdinand II (not Isabella, though). Some other names are in there but whatever.
