This leather shoe looking motherfucker should not even be mentioned in the same conversation as Anthony Bourdain

"Ramsay will explore foreign food cultures, “discover the undiscovered”, and engage in a kitchen competition with the locals, where he will pit his own interpretations of local dishes against the traditional versions."

Isn't that a concept that has been done before? I'm pretty sure I did see it before...

also, it is not that different than what 99% of tv chefs are doing today anyway, with the difference that now they will have natives in front of them telling they are doing it wrong to their faces

I swear he's done this before, but it was more to highlight traditional dishes vs. the British bastardization, and actually talks about how it gets from one to the other (aka colonialism). Then he actually learns the proper way to make the dish. Am I crazy? Did I have some vivid Ramsay dream? Or was that an Anthony Bourdain show?

I swear I've seen a gif set of this on tumblr too. Idk what show it'd even be from though?

That could be an interesting show to me. Sometimes the ~bastardization of a cuisine makes for interesting dishes that people like and then spawns a whole new type of cuisine (e.g. Tex Mex), and it’s all wrapped up in complicated histories of trade, colonialism, racism, etc.

Dude just do Kitchen Nightmares and Hotel Hell and I’m a happy camper. I don’t need you putting a spin on culturally traditional dishes made by people of color.

Also OP, I’m living for this font - I’m jacking it for my next post lol
