Indie Film Release Guide: July 27th [An ONTD Original]

New to theaters this week in wide release is the most recent addition to the Mission: Impossible series, Fallout (which has gotten killer reviews) and Teen Titans Go to the Movies. But if you've already seen those, or aren't interested in seeing them, there are a bunch of indie films opening this week, too.

Note that some of the movies listed are in their first week or two of limited release in the USA, so it may take them a few more weeks (or months) to show up in your local arthouse theater or on VOD. Check out the posts from the past few weeks for more movies that may have just opened near you: July 20th, July 13th, and July 6th.

As an aside, I just read that Bo Burnham's well-received Eighth Grade is going into wide release on August 3rd, which is great news for everyone who lives outside of the 10-15 cities that generally get limited release films.

Hot Summer Nights

Plot: An awkward teenager gets in over his head dealing drugs while falling for his business partner's enigmatic sister during one scorching summer in Cape Cod, Mass.
What you should know: This was filmed in 2015, and debuted at SXSW 2017.

The Captain
