mental illnesses don't care who you are, what you have, or what you've achieved. its one of the harder things to explain to people who don't experience then. yes i should be happy, i should be content, yes some good things are happening, but it doesn't change the way depression, anxiety, etc. fuck with you.

hope she gets all the help she needs. i'm going to my first therapy session on thursday, so fingers crossed for all of us dealing with this.

Man, I'm always late to these posts, but I just wanna say: Exactly this. My family always tells me I have nothing to worry about and I just try to explain to them, ''I know, but that's not the point!'' My depressive slumps occur every three months, so it really has nothing to do with external occurrences. It's the chemicals in my brain being a bitch.

I only wish the best for Michelle and good luck with your therapy!

I’m glad she’s doing this. I recently quit my job and started and IOP (intensive outpatient program) with my healthcare. It’s group therapy that teaches as well; I’m actually the youngest person in my group so far. I want to be able to handle my anxiety better because I would be getting physically ill before work. I can’t live like this. I’ve only been to two appointments so far; I’m just hoping this will help me.

I really want to quit my job and go inpatient but I can't pay my rent etc. Living with my mother (only family I really have) isn't an option because I basically have a panic disorder because of her ugh
