Humans creators say series 3, episode 8's emotional exit was "purely borne out of storytelling" https://t.co/4KSYHK5Jtm - DS Breaking News (@digitalspybrk) July 5, 2018
-In a shocking move, the s3 finale saw [Spoiler (click to open)]Gemma Chan exit the series as Mia was killed off during a riot-Humans creators Sam Vincent and Jonathan Brackley talk about why it was

I guess I give them credit for having the guts to do it and it sounds like it was the plan all along and not some last ditch attempt at shock value (e.g. Dan being Gossip Girl). But my interest in the show has dipped considerably knowing they won't be part of the show anymore.
[Spoiler (click to open)] I dunno if they ever truly knew what to do with Karen, so while her fridging was wasted potential, it didn't infuriate me as much as martyring Mia for the sake of special messiah Niska. And rushing Leo/Mattie so she can get knocked up with a special baby? Way to ruin her character and make her just a uterus.
If this was the final season, I could have lived with Mia dying to broker real peace and Mattie finally coming clean, to save her mom. But the Jesus!Niska nonsense and special babies really leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
And poor Flash.
I did like how blood thirsty Sam was, given what humans did to him and Karen, and I liked him with Stanley.
I called Odi 2.0 being V, but they should have revealed it earlier and not just had exposition dump in the last episode, really not making me care about this character. Should have been Fred, justice for Fred!
After S1, it always surprised me they didn't have Karen interact with the Elsters more, but especially with Leo. She looks like his mother, was created to replace her, then discarded, they had a moment where he was reaching out to her at the end of S1, but after that it was basically ignored except for Leo telling Sam 'it's complicated'. It's a waste of an interesting dynamic that could have been.
And they really didn't know what to do with Leo either this season- those moments of him trying to learn to be human were nice, but even if they wanted to do a 'Leo's human and synth blood is mixing and changing him' plot point, they didn't even do that beyond people asking 'how are you awake/strong' and instead he got shoved in a halfassed romance for the point of magic babies.
Idk, it left me sad. I didn’t think I would find Laura likable especially from the first two seasons. She really grew on me. I’m not sure how I feel with the whole thing with Niska - I want to say it has potential but not....? Idk.
The start of the season was so slow it didn’t really start to pick until E5...
