It's definitely hard to keep watching Handmaid's tale it just keeps reminding me that in real life the bad guys keep winning too (republicans)

i skim watch on desktop by just pressing the -> key and then if i feel like i missed anything important i might skim back but this keeps me from having to sit through the most brutal elements of the show and feel like i /have/ to watch them.

[tl;dr and spoilers and thoughts]i had to fast forward through the climax of ep 10 the first time cause i couldn't handle but somehow knowing what happened made it easier on the ultraskim rewatch that i do to pick up on anything i missed but it was honestly really visceral and not in a good way. i like to think the show is about little hopes and how they're the only ones you can make reality in a place like this (June getting to birth her baby by herself but having to concede that she needed medical attention and that in order to not die she had to go back to Gilead was an example of this). Eden and Isaac, Nick and June's fragile intimacy, Serena breaking Gilead rules only to bow to them once it is too risky, and so forth. All of these stories are flickering lights in a pitch black darkness... )

Mandy Moore deserves a nomination (at least) for This Is Us.

I know I’m gonna be sad if she at least isn’t nominated

if darren criss wins an emmy then we know the award is truly meaningless. also where is jeffrey wright? is he submitting under supporting? if he gets paid dust while evan (who i like but is a far inferior actor) gets nominated i'm going to be pressed.

also if modern family gets another nom while schitt's creek gets nothing...... no justice

i thought darren was pretty good in versace and its not really a packed category

Why? He got acclaim for that role. Variety makes it sound like he’s a/the forerunner too.

Jeffrey Wright better be nominated, he's one of the best parts of the show.

Modern Family's still around? Hmm. Anyway Dan Stevens stays under appreciated here.
