I saw this on her Insta earlier today. I'm excited to read the essays.

I can't say I felt alone like she did tho. The majority of my friends are also 2nd generation Americans and we talk about this topic all the time. But it'll be nice to hear/read how these creatives feel about it. Look forward to it :)

Still pissed that they made her character pregnant on Superstore for absolutely no reason.

SO MUCH FUCKING THIS. It was so goddamn unnecessary. She was early enough along and it was late enough in the season that they could have easily hidden it. Her belly really only became noticeable in the finale. They really couldn't have just covered it up with baggy shirts and big purses for, like, 3 episodes? She's had the kid now, so she'll likely be back to her normal weight by the time they start filming the new season. So that means they'll have to strap some stupid fake belly on her. Y'all really thought none of this through, huh?

Also, I'm just pissed Amy can NEVER win. I know it's ~realistically tragic~ and this kind of thing happens to poor, working women all the time. But I was so happy to finally see some light and excitement in her life...........only to have it immediately shut down. It's like they want you to sympathize with a downtrodden character, but they way overshoot and just continually dump on her. It's realistic but also not fun to watch.

And the reasoning behind their decision is total BS.

. After America and I talked, we talked to the writers and we decided it would be very messy and possibly seem like a step back to have her pregnant and that’s what we liked -- that that’s one more difficulty she’ll have to get through being single and pregnant. We liked what it did for her struggle next season.

Make life more tough for her? Why do writers do that to their characters???
