I'm not even going to pretend that I have any idea what this means. But I do remember fondly, when "Heavy Rotation" first came out and being shook. I like I liked Ponytail to Shushu as well.
This was all during my descent out of Jpop, so I never got into AKB48... The only Jpop group I truly cared for and continue to morn is BRIGHT. Once AVEX killed BRIGHT, it solidified my exodus from Jpop and japanese music. Like why does Rhythm Zone even exist, outside of pushing and promoting EXILE??
Thinking about this, is just getting me salty and pissed. Because J-R&B and "urban" japanese music was my shit back then...
I find these rankings (and groups) to be so stressful just reading about it. I can say I at least know who Jurina is because of her association with Japanese pro-wrestling (LOL yes) and she always comes across as super sweet when I see her in her New Japan appearances. Also saw the rumor she is involved with Kenny Omega in real life, which is hilarious to me but also sorta makes sense!
I find it crazy that AKB48 is still going strong. I used to be a 48 wota from 2007~mid 2010ish. After the first shuffle I went from loving Team B to liking the new Team K. I was obsessed for a while- constantly on the stage48 forums. I made some great friends in the fandom, but after the multiple shuffles and the loss of original stages I stopped liking the group, and went back to my original Hello! Project fandom. (I’ve been an idol fan since ‘02. I feel so old.) Good for them, though!
Oh really? I can imagine. I was mostly active on the forum in 2008 and 2009, I think. I might’ve still posted in early 2010, but I remember a lot of the original fans were starting to leave the fandom and a bunch of new users were beginning to post when I left.

I don't really listen to any of the 48 groups, but Keziyaka46 stands out to me.
