Whatever. I have enough novel like fics that are probably better than this.

For real though, it’s so weird when I read a fic that’s so well written I’m like “damn.” Like actual plots with villains and their points of view and stuff.

They’re all spuffy. I know the relationship has a lot of hate (rightfully so, but I still love them), so if you still wanna read them, totes happy to link you.

can I have some recs too? i was a big spuffy fan back in the day (yes, i recognize how ~problematique the ship is but nostalgia is a powerful drug)

i dismissed her after reading her debut but her latest series is a lot better. still won't be picking this up though. i'm wary of this sudden influx of ya tie in novels

Thanks to Buffy, the famous (and infamous) Slayer that Nina’s father died protecting, Nina is not only the newest Chosen One-she’s the last Slayer, ever. Period.

This feels a little fan-fic-y. She's not just a Slayer, she's a Slayer whose father died protecting Buffy and also for some reason the last one? They're just gonna dispense with the whole "there are multiple Slayers" thing right off so random new character can have a special designation? Why not just explore new ground with some of the girls from around the world who are new Slayers? The last season (on TV, I have not read the comics) kind of burnt down the status quo so there are tons of places you could go without connecting everything back to the Watchers and Buffy and the standard "paranormal training academy" thing. Idk I'm cranky

ia, the concept of a last slayer only makes sense to me if the world was suddenly permanently rid of evil. or maybe she's immortal/unkillable but i'm not interested enough to find out

Meh. Sounds like someone's badly written mary sue fanfiction. And from what I know of the author's other works, that's not really far off the mark.
