I enjoyed Pac Rim U more than the first one, but not there.

Man-pain has to be the laziest plot mechanism in recent history. And the fact that male writers see it as something novel or profound makes me wanna vom.

Its so lazily done too. Like, there can be compelling narratives about men and loss, but all they ever do is cookie cutter going through the motions gestures at it. Like, they are literally so lazy and uncreative that they could think of no other way to make his character compelling then killing off a beloved female character in a really stupid way? Really? They get paid to write and that is what they came up with?
