I loved the movie as a kid, didn't see the original TV series, but I'm not sure the books will translate well, even if you set them in the 1990s.

Favorite, or most memorable BSC book?

#11 Kristy and the Snobs made me cry because those asshole neighbors mocked Kristy's elderly, dying dog :(

"Jessi's Horrible Prank" was interesting because it dealt with students bullying a teacher. The dude's face made me feel so bad for him as a child.

I also loved all the books set in Sea City. Plus the later Super Specials where they went on a road trip, and to London (I think?).

that one still sticks with me. i even remember the cover had pictures of the racist kids who had the quintessential Aryan look.

iirc the end had those kids playing with others and stuff and it was supposed to ~hint that there is a chance they may grow out of their parents' racist influence or something.

I remember that one! The kids behaved the best for Stacey. I guess I didn't understand a lot about racism then.

I don't remember the name of it but there was one where Claudia was getting like harassing phone calls? I remember doing a book report on it and carved a phone out of a block of soap & dressed and did my hair like Claudia on the cover, sideways ponytail and all.

Yes! The mystery ones were my EVERYTHING. I was a huge Nancy Drew fan but I preferred the BSC mysteries because they felt more ~modern.

it was a mystery one called stacey and the mystery at the mall. bc for some reason the school let 13 year olds work in stores for a class??? and stuff would go missing and it ended up being these children siblings that lived in the mall???

and keep out claudia. the claudia ones with great aunt peaches. vlaudia and the clue in the photograph. claudia and mean janine. etc etc
claudia was my fave bc she dressed super fun, hid chocolate in ha room, was arty and asian.

I remember the one in the mall! I thought that would be so cool as a kid, then I grew up and actually experienced a retail job lol.

I liked Claudia a lot, too, and I loved the way the books depicted her relationship with her grandma.

i really liked MA Saves the Day, any of Dawn's books, Claudia with those Nazi kids, and the one where Stacey ended up in the hospital because of her diabetes.

i loved all of the Super Specials too.

now i want to get the whole series just to have the collection.

i loved when abby was introduced but i feel like she came at such a weird time... like og babysitters club fans had aged out and there weren't many new fans still reading

Yeah me too. And it was a weird time now that I look back on it. I remember people not liking Abby cos she was new but I always thought she was cool and less annoying that Dawn could be in some of the books.
