omg I was obsessed with these books as a kid - Mary Anne was my fav bc I related to her the most - but I still haven't watched the original movie.

Aww. I used to watch the show on disney channel when I would get home from school, Flash Forward came on right after. Then I realized it was a book series and began devouring them.

I loved the '90s show and the movie, and the books (despite how irritating and repetitive they could be). I'm in if this gets picked up to series!

I loved the movie as a kid, didn't see the original TV series, but I'm not sure the books will translate well, even if you set them in the 1990s.

Favorite, or most memorable BSC book?

#11 Kristy and the Snobs made me cry because those asshole neighbors mocked Kristy's elderly, dying dog :(

"Jessi's Horrible Prank" was interesting because it dealt with students bullying a teacher. The dude's face made me feel so bad for him as a child.

I also loved all the books set in Sea City. Plus the later Super Specials where they went on a road trip, and to London (I think?).

I loved Mary-Anne Saves The Day bc I thought them getting into a fight was the most relatable thing ever and it introduced Dawn who I really liked in the early books. Boy-Crazy Stacey is a fave to this day bc they still knew how to write the Pike kids back then so they weren’t totally annoying and I just love the descriptions of Sea City. The Ghost at Dawn’s House is also really great imo. I really like the early ones that Ann wrote

The Ghost at Dawn's House was so fun! I didn't remember Mary Anne Saves the Day so I had to google the synopsis, but yeah, that was a good one too. Do you know how far Anne got with the series before ghostwriters took over?

She definitely wrote the first 35, but Ann said she wrote anywhere from 60 to 80 of them so she either did all the super specials plus one of the spin offs but I think she just did the outlines and let a ghost writer fill in the rest

Oh my god. I love Glow and I love Broad City so I would be excited to see this happen but just. Please. Don’t make it like #TooEdgy a la Riverdale. I wanna see normal and fun female friendships for teen girls in the media, I just don’t want anyone’s step dad to be a mob boss or like. Them having to solve who murdered Karen Brewer or something wild like that

So agree with the not too edgy part. Keep supernatural stuff out as well.

I was onboard until the last sentence. I would love if someone murdered Karen Brewer.
