I couldn't get past the Neverland arc + ruining origin stories of my favorite fairytale characters. Could someone expalin how this ties in with the new cast

THe new cast was basically an alternate version of Cinderella and fam. Along with a alternate Captain Hook who had a daughter with Rumpenzel who turned out to be an alternate version of Alice in Wonderland in Seattle. Regina/Rumple got stuck there along with Henry who was all grown up and had a daughter with alternate Cinderella. Mother Gothel was the big bad for a while along with Druzilla and Wicked Stepmother.

"Rumple giving Hook a transplant was always in the works and Adam/Andrew loved the fact that these two characters who always were in battle with one another would end up saving one another." shoulda made them a true love couple then tbh, it couldn't have been worse than Rumple/Belle and Emma/Hook.

I haven't watched in like 3 years so I don't understand this whole alternate universe thing but OUAT will go down as my ultimate "wasted potential" show.

even aside from the paltry storylines and multiple rapes that went unacknowledged, regina being crowned as "the good queen" just shows that these guys fundamentally misunderstood their own show and the nature of fairytales from the very beginning. even though the pilot premise is perfect on paper. they tried to explore shades of grey by bringing these people to the real world but just made good and evil disney fan fiction.
