I know Kubo had some issues, but I thought it was so beautiful and lovely. Gimme what you've got, Laika.

I finally watched Kubo and the Two Strings recently and it was gorgeously animated, but the story got pretty unimaginative in the second half. I loved everything up until Kubo left the village but then it just turned into a standard quest narrative.

Coraline is definitely my favourite.

I really didn't like Kubo and I feel like there is no one else who felt the same way about it. Like, the animation was definitely gorgeous, but the story was lame af.

I still liked it overall, but I was definitely confused by the universal praise after watching it. The whole thing with [Spoiler (click to open)]his parents being the monkey and beetle was so predictable, it actually made me kinda mad because they had such a great opportunity to make a unique and interesting film and they really dropped the ball on the story.

ParaNorman has become a fall/Halloween tradition for me so I'm excited for this!
