Can I just clear this up...the reason McFLY haven’t released any new music is not because I’ve “been too busy writing books”. I appreciate and share your frustration in the absence of McFLY lately.

I miss McFly too but since Tom was the only one who talked about the announcement, it seemed pretty obvious to me that the news would not be about the band, tbh.

Also blaming it on him is pretty stupid considering pretty much all of the band seems to be busy with other project, the one least busy seems to be Harry and he still just released a book recently.

Btw, since Above the Noise they still released a bunch of singles and went on the anthology tour (which imo is a pretty amazing kind of tour and I'm sad I missed it).

I forgot about the Anthology Tour, but I was so jealous that I didn't live in the UK, it seemd actually amazing

They will definitely come back, they are all still best friends and still are willing to do projects and stuff together (for example, Dougie and Tom with their books), I feel they truly are on a hiatus, and that they will come back one day. But they're not over.

Hadn't even realized it'd been eight years, jesus. Never thought I'd see the day that Busted would be more reliable for new music than McFly lmao.

I get that people still love them but let them live their lives, damn.

At some point last year I turned round a corner in town and nearly bumped into him with his youngest kid in a little pram. He gave me a little "please do not recognise me" wince/smile at the same time as I gave him a "I recognise you but I have no idea why" kind of squint before apologising for nearly walking into his pram and walking off. I only realised who he was a few hours later. You're welcome Tom!
