I’ve been dairy free for almost a year now and I’ve never felt better. I was 100% vegan for about six months but it just wasn’t for me. I still never buy meat at the store tho, I only get seafood/chicken when I go out to eat if I get meat at all.

Recently I’ve had terrible stomach issues that I think are dairy related, so I’ve just cut it from my diet and cheese has been the hardest for me. I’m hoping in a few weeks I’ll get over it and start feeling better.

18 months later and I don't miss cheese for the most part (there used to ALWAYS be cheese in my fridge). About once every six weeks I eat pizza though, or have cream cheese or a quesadilla. Because no one can live fully without cheese. Even though I was diagnosed with dairy allergy it seems to be my partner who gets the sickest when we binge, which makes me think he has a serious allergy.

I mean I know you're just being obtuse but this is an excuse to post some gifs of my favorite (and not fugly) vegan to combat your statement

I want a conscious eater, because food isn't just food, it's connected to the environment, your place in society, to finances and economics.

But we could wank over people daring to eat differently than the western, meat-filled diet as well.

+1. it means so much more than just what you eat.

This. People don't realise how much our diet influences the world. Today my lecture went on a tangent and started ranting about how western diet is maintains poverty in Africa and I remembered why he was my fav (Before ONTD comes for him, he was born and raised there). It is really upsetting that people really don’t care. At the end of the day, we are just selfish .
