I hated the first book, I couldn't even finish it. I was so excited after reading the synopsis but the book was so boring

That's exactly how I felt! I read half of it and then gave up. It was so, so boring.

i really liked them, but i'm also a bit of a history freak so it was super interesting to me

they're definitely a little dense tho!

I don't necessarily disagree about his acting, but he reminds me a lot of Christian Bale, where I always feel like I'm watching him behind several panes of glass. He just seems so cold and guarded, but then that's how he gets cast so it works.
