Yessssssss!! The current stage set up is awful. The best part about that old stage was that it was smaller and that way the dance routines actually looked better. Now with that huge stage they're on the dancers only dance in a small little spot and it looks ridiculous.
It's just not as dynamic without different levels.
I haven't watched last night's show either but I literally watched the OP's video so see if I could spot one specific person because I wanted them on the show SO MUCH.
I know I won't be happy with the entire top ten because fuck all...it should be the fucking top 20...but I saw the person I wanted the most so there's that at least.
I don't want to spoil myself(aka ruin my hopes) so I'm going to wait until later but I'm really excited that it's a Wade piece!
I agree I wish it were Top 20 as well, and get rid of the All-Stars. If they did that then they'd probably be able to do it but with only a 1 hour timeslot and them using the all-stars it's obvious why they're only doing Top 10.
I feel like they did the whole all-star thing because they knew certain people were just NOT good and they figured if they danced with an all-star at least the all-star could make the routine look halfway decent.
Ugh I'm just so angry with what a drastic change the show has taken. I missed season 1 but I loved seasons 2 and 3 and even 4 was pretty good. Everything after that was a damn mess.
They need to get Blake McGrath in there choreographing. But I think the contestants would have a stroke or something just trying to pick up his choreography lol
I haven't watched yet, I'll be watching this tonight. But I'm so glad to see him back on this show. He really did do some of the best routines that they've had.
I wonder if they'll bring anyone else back from the first few seasons. I feel like they know the show is tanking and they're trying to grasp at whatever they can to bring viewers back. I remember year after year it won Emmy's for the routines and I can't remember when the last time that happened was now.
Also, I fucking adored Neil so I'm glad he was an all-star for a while. I literally went and saw Bring It On the musical for him because he was in it. NO REGRETS.
They're still consistently being nominated for Emmys at least. I don't know if they're winning them. Travis Wall keeps bringing it.
I loved him, too! He actually was from my area. Or well, his hometown is about a 20 minute drive or so from mine. He did a signing or something not long after the season ended at his old studio and I went. I wish he was an all-star again but I get why he wouldn't want to be.
Ah, forgot about Travis! The only good one they seem to have left.
Speaking of these guys, whatever happened to Benji?? He won his season, did a music video with Christina Aguleria and then was never heard from again.
Benji is from MY town! He almost hit me with his damn car because he wasn't paying attention getting out of the gas station. Lol. This was after he won.
His parents have a dance studio here and I'm pretty sure he helps out when he can. Other than that, no idea.
Travis should have won in the first place and I'm still mad Allison was eliminated halfway through the season. I miss the way they eliminated people because they had them dance one last time AFTER they were eliminated and those dances were from the heart. Her dance was this lovely little thing where she ended up dancing around Travis Wall, who was just crying his heart out for her.
At least they brought her back as an all-star because she's too fucking good to have not come back. Plus, she wouldn't have met Twitch and married him and had another baby!

I'm so bitter and pressed over Jenna picking Kiki Nyemchek (who should never have got through in the first place on the back of him only being able to do ballroom with any proficiency?!?!)
He trains under the Chmerkovskiys, he's close friends with Jenna already (NEPOTISM), and he was in the DWTS troupe. She was literally never going to pick anyone else but him, it was a foregone conclusion, they've been friends for years.
And Lex is in Shaping Sound with Gaby and basically did a tap duet with her every night on tour.... HMM.
Having finally watched last night's episode, I felt that their dance was underwhelming. There were far better dances (ESPECIALLY Robert's) last night.
I'm more pissed that they basically sabotaged Kaylee to not only have a terrible partner (fuck Cyrus. He does not deserve to be an all star and shouldn't have gone so far in his season) but also had bad choreography and a fucking AWFUL costume.
I watched the clips of all the dances, and it was legit ALL completely underwhelming??? Robert's was great as per, but idk I didn't feel much from that, but i'll definitely admit to the fact it was technically a dramatic step above pretty much anyone else's.

LOVE Kaylee, but that was a terrible number, and tbh wasn't even Contemporary? It was more like the laziest possible version of a NappyTabs routine like idek.
I will say though - props to Cyrus for doing something more in her wheelhouse than his own.
Twitch and Allison had a baby in the past year so I'm pretty sure one of them decided to stay home to take care of the kid. I would have loved them both on the show though.
The judges weren't even kind to Cyrus and he had a pasted on smile but you could tell he was not happy. They just fucked that whole damn number up.
Part of the problem was that the reveal of the dancers was underwhelming. They should have shown us who they were and then did the little choreography/introduction package like they've done in the past. It made a lot of things feel meh. I liked Marko's dance and I loved Robert's. I was happy with who everybody chose but I will never understand why Cyrus chose a contemporary dancer.
honestly the only thing that can maybe make me return to this show is if they brought back the original season 2-4?ish format. when people who were b-boys and b-girls had to do the paso and shit.
