and i dont deny that ww couldn't get engaged in the show without a white woman and are ofc ignoring the numerous characters of color in the show. but laura is also getting a ton of misogyny flung her way too. not every laura fan is like the dumbass white woman writing think pieces online.
all i see is people calling her a whore. Especially when emily also portrayed the red head girl. So then people said they both got what they deserved, they were both whores.
All i see is the word whore when it comes to Laura. And how she is also a whore because she is stealing a black man from black woman.
This. Most people who like her doesn't excuse her shitty behavior but the haters are mostly misogynistic assholes and you can tell by the way they express about her
[Spoiler (click to open)]i'm glad i'm not alone shipping shadow/easter, but tbh i'm shipping her with just about everyone. but i love laura so much more on the show so i don't want her to go anywhere. i hated her in the book but - emily's so goooooood.
ugh for real? the orgy/worship/sacrifice scene? SO FUCKING GORGEOUS. jfc.
[Spoiler (click to open)]- if i have to make all the ostara x shadow content, i will - laura is way better on the show but after awhile her scenes are starting to repeat for me. at least salim brought something different out of her than her usual. UGH EMILY IS SO GOOD AND I'M SO :/ THAT I'M NOT THAT INTO LAURA - sometimes when i'm doubting this show, it comes back to show that it's amazing and that orgy scene was one of those times. oh man. i really want bilquis to survive.
[Spoiler (click to open)]I heard they weren't going to have the coming to America vignettes at the start of episodes in season 2. But that doesn't preclude Nancy from telling more stories, I suppose
[Spoiler (click to open)]I think it was Ian McShane who was saying that the show is just progressing from that, like how some shows have bits in their first seasons that they drop. I guess I can sort of see that, but from a more practical standpoint, I'm guessing it's just costly
[Spoiler (click to open)]Ah, just curious did he say this recently?? The panel that they held before the premiere had Gaiman, Fuller, and Green say that we'll be getting a lot of vignettes as the series goes on, some even being new to the story and not featured in the book...I do hope that hasn't changed. Those are so brilliant and so beautifully done!
Absolutely loving where they are going with Bilquis for the show, especially compared to her book counterpart! Was a bit odd to see her touted as a main character and only featured here and there, but seeing her backstory and her appearance in the finale was fantastic ♥ Thankfully, in the interview above, Fuller and Green said she will play a much more major part in S2 =)
[Spoiler (click to open)]- so... easter/shadow should be canon now. or mad moon. whichever that isn't laura/shadow ( ... )
