I hope people know this show was terrible since season one and it didn't suddenly become so in season two. That is, the hyperfocus on Ichabod at the deterrence of Abby made its appearance v, v early. But anyway, I am so glad it was finally cancelled.

Haha, you didn't lie. I tuned in because I ❤️ Nicole and I stayed for her cute chemistry with Tom, but you're right, it was always messy. They never had ANY kind of plan for the story; it was just a jumble of monsters-of-the-week and random American history tidbits. I was glad to be free of it after S3.

They burned through a season worth of material in the pilot but it was still enjoyable until they made every single possible plot element connected to Ichabod. Like, JFC. He was involved in the creation of the Headless Horseman and his family drama was a rip off of Angel S3 the S1 finale.

I felt like there originally was a plan for her story. The first season gave me strong Buffy vibes, with Abby as the chosen one who has to accept her destiny, Ichabod as her guide whose secondary story line is about accepting that his time is past and laying his wife to rest, and finally the police captain (forgotten his name) as the sort of parental/grounding figure who has to learn to trust her/let her go. I was enjoying it.

And then somehow, instead of that, season two became the Crane Family Nonsense show and I gave the fuck up.

Yeah it sucks for her but she already knows how it goes. There is a show out there losing its female lead and they will contact her to pick up the leftovers.
