I understand that what he's trying to portray is that there were more poc than just black people who were part of the Black Power movement but at the same time, it is SO rare that we see a black woman in the lead for anything these days, especially something like this that is directly related to their race.

yes, the erasure of black women IS timely and timeless

i was looking forward to this when it was first announced, but now i'm not watching it. tired of supporting black men who dgaf about black women
