this sounds so cute and I'll have to watch in the original. I had the same issue with Kubo and the Two Strings too, though that isn't a dubbed film - as well-crafted as the designs were (and Laika is always on point with their attention to detail) - it was pretty disheartening to sit there after the movie and look at the credits, having to scour just to find asian names, not just in the cast but behind the scenes.

Yeah, I adored Kubo but the fact that George Takei was the only Japanese actor with any real lines was so disappointing.

No, it was an asian dude or maybe it was a woman who was being anti-black and called her a bitch for being cast, and not the other white women, Zendaya said something to the sort of "I didn't hear about this, and basically said get your facts straight."

Zendaya's imdb said she was part of the project since deadline first reported it, and it never went away.

On the 17th of January, Deadline reported the rest of the cast, if Bella was taking the place of Zendaya, Deadline would have mentioned it, but Zendaya was not mentioned in their report.

So I take it she was never a part of the project, she was just assumed.

lmao same. i gave up on her a while ago, she's a total white feminist. remember this doozy:

"We're all Africans really," Meryl Streep says when asked about lack of diversity on Berlin film festival jury: https://t.co/ZpKxLI2XBq

This is why I can't stand Hollywood. They wanna preach about how inclusive and diverse they are but hey! Let's narrate this film cause at this point in my career it's a gig I totally need to take away from someone who actually deserves it.
Like why does Meryl Streep need to narrate this film ...
