Didn't Van Jones backtrack really quickly over his "whitelash" comments?

And Clay Aiken? How random. His stans were racist af back in the day.

I think he still stands by it as "part" of the reason but he has leaned more towards they aren't racist just ignored blah blah blah

Unpopular opinion maybe but I feel he kind of sold out a little with all the attention he got and CNN giving him shows now to bridge the gap etc

the end of his first messy truth special (the interview with michael moore) outed him as a sellout

what i hate is that they are not IGNORED, they are IGNORANT.
this whole "THEY VOTED FOR TRUMP BC THEY FELT IGNORED" is so stupid, because WHERE did Trump pay attention to them? where did Trump actually lay out a plan to help them? oh that's right NOWHERE.

they didn't vote for trump because HE is the one who went out there to help him
they voted for him because he speaks like a fucking 2nd grader so they were like "O SOUNDS LIKE ME" and he's a straight white man who is a twisted cartoonish version of the "american dream" of being a millionaire.

they vote for him because of racism, sexism, xenophobia, plain ignorance or greed. there is NO OTHER REASON.

I guess this shows that some people can change. I admire people who can forgive like that and work to bridge communities. The Sikh community has faced so much hatred and violence since 9/11 that it really breaks my heart. I hope they keep spreading their message.

The part when Clay turned the question back on the girl because she made it about herself (to the boy in the back) why would you(boy in the back) be afraid to say something you believe in that ultimately will harm someone else unless you knew it was wrong? Notice how the White kids were like "Don't lump me in with those other people."

That's the crux of racism and why all those assholes are trying to rebrand their hatred.

People know being labelled a racist is bad because its socially unacceptable and no-one wants to deviate from the societal norm, especially the 'I miss the days where the only dude I saw in a turban was on 'I Dream of Jeannie' crowd.

That's why they're so defensive when they get called on it.

We've taught people 'racist' is bad, but not that being racist is.
