i think the hfpa is most likely to give it to huppert but that's just wishful thinking on my end. god im so fucking obsessed with elle it's not even funny.

also ryan gosling really surprised me in the nice guys like he hasn't in years but he isn't that good of an actor. like when will people wake up

Best Director
SHOULD WIN: Damien Chazelle, La La Land
WILL WIN: Damien Chazelle, La La Land

agreed! I think he's a great director but moonlight is the better film overall

same tbh! it's a well liked film that's under the radar enough to not get backlash & she's a well liked actress who's been nominated 100 times... I have faith it's Amy's year!

the big issue with the lobster was its release date. it came out well over a year ago in the UK and had huge buzz back then, and it should've been released in the US at the same time. what was the point of delaying it a year for US audiences? if it came out at the same time everywhere it would've done so much better

I can't believe Emma is getting nominations for. that. role.

White people get served everything on a silver platter.

It makes sense that they're predicting the La La Land wins given the Comedy/Drama split, but the ass-kissing for Manchester by the Sea gets a firm eyeroll.

Manchester is white man pain.

Never underestimate the power or appeal of that to the three major televised awards.
