After Sucker Punch I had no idea she was still in Hollywood so good for her for finding stuff she really likes to work on.

Have you listened to How Did This Get Made?'s podcast ep on Sucker Punch? It's so great.

Shangri La was so great for the directors first feature film. I was really impressed. I'm glad Emily does what she wants and lives a really simple life. She doesn't nearly get the recognition she deserves for her acting and her posts on IG about the election were so on point.

I love how random it is and her captions kill me sometimes.

and one last thought about the film: i could watch an entire movie about Teijo, i loved their character so much. i was really impressed by how the director managed to make such a secondary character with relatively little dialogue/screen time so fleshed out; sure, there were some stereotypical things about them, but the vulnerability was real. and Emily's right, that scene at the Grand Canyon was prob the best.

Seeing her reminds me how traumatizing Sleeping Beauty was, that movie gave me nightmares and I just wished I could forget it.

I wanted to watch that but now I'm hesitant, can you mildly spoil me?

it's a strange film but I wouldn't call it traumatizing lol. a lot of people found it really boring but I thought it was beautiful. Emily is naked a lot and what men do to her is downright horrifying ....ok maybe it is traumatizing lol

Well, the scenery is beautiful and she's gorgeous in it but the story in itself is disturbing and quite fucked up to me, plus I couldn't look at old men the same way anymore...

"made close friends she still sees at least once a week while filming 'Shangri-la Suite', says that kind of thing never happens in big budget productions"

I'm a little surprised she said that because the Sucker Punch girls seemed like good friends, I know she still sees Jena Malone occasionally

tbh I don't think she's implying that you don't stay friends with people, just that you don't see them as frequently as maybe you would with a very small budget film where people have to really work together to get stuff done. she's very close with jena and I've seen abbie comment her posts from time to time but the other girls, not so much.
