I 100% believe the show is more staged than they admit. They always have one call with a friend of the "victim" who gets all sketch and angry and won't talk, and then the conversations with everyone flows so easily. They can't show people's names and profile pics without consent...even if that's not the law on paper, that's still something MTV wouldn't risk. Like if MTV showed my fb page, name, profile pic, age, possible other boyfriends, and location without consent from the get-go, I would sue so fucking hard. You can't air that stuff without 100% participation.

Yeah. I think they get an agreement from the actual catfish as well before they even air (because how do you explain the catfish already being miked when Nev & Co. roll up to confront them?). I know there are other things that are staged (pretty sure production rolls around with various piece of artwork to hang up in hotel rooms since the original art in hotels can't be used without licensing).
