I love this messy ass show. Everyone talks about how OTT season 2 is, but I thought the Mary death in season 1 was a little too much for me.

The problem isn't the OTTness it's that the OTTness is not as well structured of set up as it was in season one. You take the big OMG moments from each season and you compare. The "something bad is going to happen"with Mary was set up all season. And after the event happened it still affected the show. This season the Romeo moment was barely and poorly set up. And after it happened there has been no follow up just poor Rachel and how she feels about it. It's ironic in an attempt to show how white liberals hijack the narrative in situations like that,they've done the exact same thing but like worse
