i feel like the fitbit apps and watches people are using probably contribute to some sort of self esteem issues and eating disorder issues (same with things like Paleo diet, etc.). It isn't really healthy to be watching your weight that much as well as comparing your daily activities to other people
"as well as comparing your daily activities to other people"
what? there's challenges you can do with other people but you don't have to do those. i just look at my own daily stats. my fitbit has motivated me so much to be more active.
If you're eating correctly, and working out regularly, you shouldn't be concentrating on "the number" so much as how you feel/look.
I think people start getting complexes based on their weight number, when that number contains so many different factors and not just bad weight. Your weight will fluctuate regularly, and should if you're consistent with your eating, exercising, and even pooping!
It's a good place holder, and gives you an idea of where you're at, but you shouldn't weigh yourself every damn day. That's not telling you everything, and you shouldn't base your weight number on how healthy you are.
