I'm so happy the machine survived, I'm going to miss her tho. I liked her as a benevolent god watching over us. I'd join her cult in an instant and I'm an atheist. It's too bad we didn't get a full season. I wanted more of Finch/MachineRoot's philosophical debates
despite my saltiness about how root's death was handled, i really enjoyed the finale. except i hate that harold got his perfect happy ending reuniting with grace, ugh fuck him tbh. i came out of this season loving all the other characters and disliking finch so much more than before. also he's a dick for not telling fusco and shaw he's alive
sarah shahi has been absolutely amazing this season though, i hope she gets great roles going forward that will continue to let her showcase just how talented she is. her micro-expressions during the message from root were unbelievable.
Harold was super annoying this season. I said it in my last post that I think it is ironic he thinks he wants to help people but he never allow people to help him. He thinks he is protecting his friends but all he is doing is putting them in danger. He is always underestimate how much his friends would protect him no matter what. I think that Root and John would been alive if he would have just let them do what needed to be done. Shit.
With that said I wished that they focused on Reese instead of wasting time on Finch. Root n Carter went out with a bang but all John got was a shot of him getting shoot by Samaritan agents.
yeah, i liked finch up until this season. it felt like he never really grew? like i thought his arc would end with him finally learning to trust the machine he not only built, but raised, and let her do her thing. and considering the people that died because of him, him sacrificing himself to save them and to finally let the machine be free, would've been a better ending, imo.
i actually thought reese's death was so beautiful, way better than either carter or especially root, who went out at the hand of a fairly new random and died offscreen, just for the reveal of the machine having her voice. i wish we had seen fusco and shaw finding out about reese's death though, or just more mourning for him in some way, that was where i felt his death was lesser than carter or root's
Everything made me tear up. It felt a bit rushed so I wish they had more time for the final confrontations but beside that the finale was perfect imo. I'm gonna miss everyone sfm.
