suffocation sounds terrible.

how does a car like that get released? surely it needs to go through a lot of tests beforehand?

cars are always tested beforehand but unfortunately some of the issues with some vehicles aren't discovered until after they have been in market for 6 months to a year and then the cars are recalled to fix the problem, free of charge. it doesn't say whether or not his car was taken in to fix the recall or not so he may have had the problem fixed and it was a genuine error or he may have been like a lot of car owners who figure they'll just get the recall fixed eventually, put it off, and think it's not going to be a big deal :(

He wasn't at fault, owners have not been notified that parts are available yet. On May 14, 2016 owners were mailed the interim notice of the recall which also informs that parts are not yet available. The Takata airbag recall that's affected multiple manufacturers for example has thousands of cars on the road with the faulty airbags but the manufacturers don't yet have all the replacement parts.

Chrysler doesn't have the best track record on safety. https://consumerist.com/2016/01/15/fiat-chrysler-recalling-389k-suvs-again-to-fix-wiring-issue-that-can-lead-to-sun-visors-catching-fire/

me too. I'm shocked his death affects me so much tbh..I had a hard time sleeping and I have no idea why since I was never a ~fan, I just really liked him and thought he was sweet and talented after watching some of his movies so I followed him here and there...the last time I was this sad over a celebrity death was Heath..:'(

honestly i feel like he was just soooo lowkey and his performances so subtle that you don't really realise how talented he is/was? which i am super regretting now =(

This is me too. I always liked him. I got really sad last night reading tweets from his friends. I turned 27 yesterday and knowing we were the same age and he died alone due to a freak accident is fucking me up.

I'll also never be over Heath Ledger. I really loved him.
