but i also thought this was already decided now that HBO when they're pitching their series on their streaming service, true detective has been promo'd as "watch the entire series" as opposed to "all episodes" for ongoing series.

I didn't watch the show but I remember with the first season there was so much hype and I heard plenty of people talk about irl. But the second season came and it was a ghost town lol I didn't expect it to fall that fast

The first season was good but the story itself was rather average. It got elevated by the actors and the director.
