Ohhh. I would come and buy something, and especially to come see you, but I will be in Chicago all weekend.

Ohh, what kind of record player? And musical equipment.

Everything else sounds good too, for sure better than most garage sales. I'll come for sure.

The record player has already been sold from one roommate to another. : ( sorry.

And I don't know about the musical equipment, really. we've got a shit ton of it in this house, I just have no idea who it all belongs to and what's being sold.

But yeah, please come. Tooooooons of shit. really cool shit.

That's fine! I actually have a couple record players. I was just curious if yours was better than mine, haha.

I'm excited though for music stuff and books, etc. Do you happen to have The Cider House Rules, by chance? I've been recommended to read it a couple times, now I am compelled.

what kind of a violin?

It's a copy of a Joseph Guarnerius, I think from the early 20's.

To be playable, the bow needs to be re-haired, and it needs an A string. It's not the hottest looking thing around, but I've always loved the sound. Incredibly warm, which is a lot from a violist talking about a violin.

My mom bought it from my favorite orchestra teacher ever about 10 years ago. At that point, Royal "We are the devil" Music appraised it at around $550.

Hmmmm. I'm kind of looking for a decent-sounding violin that I don't have to put a lot of work into. Strings and rehairs are no big deal. I have an 1831 Glass that I need to get a new bridge, seams splits, and a multitude of other problems addressed, and I'm kind of not feeling like it right now. Plus, it's a baroque violin, which makes it inherently harder to handle than a standard modern one, especially when it comes to finding someone to work on it. :)

Buuuuut I'm not going to be in town until Monday - so try to sell it - if it doesn't go, perhaps I can play in the next time I'm in the area? :)

I'll try to hawk it. If I don't, I'll definitely let you know.

Do you know how many people I've told about our garage sale?

It's gonna be craaaazy! (I hope.)
