Title: Pajama? Pajama! [3/4]
Pairing: Yesung/Sungmin
Rating: PG-13
Genre: Romance, Fluff
Disclaimer: I don't own Super Junior. Neither do I own the icon. Just the idea of this fic.
Summary: When Sungmin's night clothes get destroyed, little did he know that he would gain much more than second-hand clothes from his Yesung-hyung.
A/N: My first piece of fanfiction ever. Inspired by my userpic. Halfway through the fic, I found out that they were at a radio station, not a bedroom. Oh well. Enjoy! Comments are very much appreciated! (:

Chapter 1,
Chapter 2 For the next few days, Sungmin was an enigma. One minute he was all bouncy and hyper, the next jittery and withdrawn. The occupants of the 11th storey dorm had different speculations about Sungmin’s abnormal behavior.
-
Eunhyuk was almost swayed by Donghae’s wild theory that their hyung’s brain had been taken over by aliens. Eunhyuk soon realized that it was absolutely absurd.
In the end, he stuck with his own theory that Sungmin’s fever had addled his brain. It was much more plausible, after all.
-
Ryeowook was extremely worried for his hyung. He believed that Sungmin was overworked, especially with his schedule at the radio station. Adding on the recent pajama disaster, Sungmin was probably a highly stressed person. Ryeowook resolved to cook more healthy dishes for Sungmin. (Without Eunhyuk’s help, of course.)
Also, he would ban Sungmin from the kitchen. God knows what would happen if Sungmin tried to cook in his condition. As much as Ryeowook enjoyed cooking together with his hyung, his kitchen was much too precious.
-
Everyone had made Kyuhyun out to be a drone that was immune to other people’s feelings, but he was the complete opposite. While Eunhyuk and Ryeowook were pinning down reasons such as illness or overwork as the cause for Sungmin’s recent mood swings, Kyuhyun knew better. He had noticed how his roommate would get all flustered when Yesung called his name or how he could barely keep eye contact with Yesung. Hell, he had even purposely left the two alone to prove his hypothesis. Sungmin’s skittish behavior afterwards had confirmed his suspicions. There was no mistaking it: Sungmin had fallen in love with Yesung.
Kyuhyun had been taught from young by his father to stay out of other people’s business. He wouldn’t meddle in his hyungs’ romantic lives. But if Yesung or Sungmin were starting to look too pathetic, he would intervene. As much as he would like them to realize their mutual feelings for each other by themselves, he wondered how long it would take. Yesung’s atypical introversion around Sungmin and the latter’s obliviousness equated to a very amused yet annoyed Kyuhyun.
-
Yesung knew that his presence made Sungmin uncomfortable. However, he acted as if everything was normal. Like how Sungmin averting his eyes was normal. Like how Sungmin would mysteriously turn silent when he joined in his conversations with the other SJ members was nothing. Sure, it made him miserable but what could he do? He didn’t want a repeat of the event that happened a few days ago. When Sungmin slapped away his hand, it hurt.
Yesung thought that he was starting to get closer to the younger. I guess I was wrong.
But Yesung didn’t want to give up. He couldn’t. He had fallen too deeply in love with Sungmin.
-
Sungmin really couldn’t understand what was wrong with him. His ears always perked up expectantly whenever he heard Yesung’s voice yet, when he appeared, Sungmin would puzzlingly turn mute. Sure, he had always found the elder’s voice a major turn on sexy highly appealing, but Sungmin wouldn’t keep quiet just to listen to his voice, for goodness sake!
Sungmin still felt guilty about slapping Yesung’s hand away but he couldn’t bring himself to apologise. Every time Yesung looked into his eyes, he just froze and stopped functioning normally. It was really starting to frustrate him. Now, the closest he could get to Yesung was wearing the shirts that he had given him. Lee Sungmin, you’re really pathetic, did you know that?
Thank goodness for the performance tomorrow, Sungmin thought. It was a much needed form of distraction.
-
“Oh miracle~” Eunhyuk, Siwon and Donghae chorused in the bus. The Super Junior members were currently on their way to a music performance.
Sungmin was busy looking out the window the entire bus ride. Trying to be as inconspicuous as possible, he had settled himself at the back of the bus. When Eunhyuk pulled him in to sing ‘Miracle’, he feebly shook his head and muttered an apology. Eunhyuk pouted, but left his best friend alone and went over to Kibum to try and coax him to sing along. (When Kibum obliged, Eunhyuk nearly died from shock.)
Yesung was listening to music by himself, near the front of the bus. He made it obvious with a slightly frowning expression that he did not want to be bothered. Hence, it was understandable that he got annoyed when someone went to tap his shoulder. Turning around to identify the perpetrator, he saw Kyuhyun sliding into the seat beside him. Sighing, Yesung took out his earphones.
“Hey there, hyung,” Kyuhyun greeted.
“What do you want?” Yesung didn’t bother to hide his irritation.
Kyuhyun jerked his head to the side. Unwillingly, Yesung followed his head and his gaze fell on Sungmin, who was staring listlessly out the window.
“Sungmin? What about him?” Yesung asked Kyuhyun quizzically.
“Don’t you want to talk to him? He seems pretty withdrawn all of a sudden.” He commented casually.
Yesung scoffed. “He won’t even look at me, and you expect me to talk to him?”
“Actually, it’s not that he won’t talk to you. It’s that he can’t talk to you.”
Yesung gave Kyuhyun his famous blank stare. “Huh?” He said intelligibly.
“Look,” Kyuhyun tried to make his explanation as simple as possible. “Sungmin-hyung wants to talk to you, but he can’t. You make him nervous, hyung. And he can’t keep eye contact with you because it’s too difficult for him.”
“Why?” Yesung interjected. “It’s not like I have bad breath... At least, I think I don’t. Is there something wrong with my voice? Or it is because he’s found out that I’ve been stealing glances at him? What if he ha-?”
Kyuhyun resisted the urge to throttle Yesung. “It’s because he’s in love with you, you daft cloud!” He spat impatiently.
Yesung blinked once. Twice. Then realization hit him like a ton of bricks. Sungmin’s in love with me?
“Wait, wait, wait!” Yesung shook the maknae’s shoulders repeatedly. “Min’s in love with me? But when, I mean, how do you know?”
“I’m a genius so I just know these kinds of things,” Kyuhyun shrugged off Yesung’s hands and waved his own hand airily. “Don’t go denying that you don’t love him; I’ve been observing the both of you and it’s obvious that you both harbor romantic feelings for each other.”
He continued, “Sungmin-hyung’s clueless about his feelings, so I think it’s best if you make him realize his feelings for you before confessing to him. Otherwise, his head would explode from the confusion and he would run away from you like a distraught rabbit escaping from a hunter.”
Yesung stayed silent. He looked down at his lap and toyed with his earphones wordlessly. He didn’t know that his liking for Sungmin was obvious. He had tried keeping it under wraps for ages as he believed that Sungmin didn’t feel the same way. Yet, upon hearing Kyuhyun’s words, he could feel his control slipping. Finally, he looked back up at Kyuhyun, a steely determination present in his eyes.
“What do I do to get him to realize his feelings for me?”
Kyuhyun smirked. At last, they were getting down to business. He leaned over and whispered, “Here’s what you need to do…”
-
“Alright, everybody listen! Your clothes for the ‘U’ performance are on the hangers over there,” The coordinator gestured to a rack full of clothes in the corner of the dressing room. “After the hair and make-up artists are done touching up you guys up, hurry and change into your respective outfits! Your performance starts in an hour’s time!”
Everybody shuffled to the dressing tables for their hair and make-up. Sungmin stared blankly into the mirror as the make-up artist applied foundation on his face. He was still in a daze when she snapped her compact shut and proclaimed loudly that she was done with him.
“Wow, they gave us a nice set of outfits for this performance!” Upon recognizing that it came from Yesung, Sungmin turned his head around sharply and was greeted with a stunning sight.
Yesung was dressed in a snug-fitting, black low-cut vest that showed off his biceps and a matching pair of tight black jeans. Sungmin took in the elder’s ensemble unabashedly, inspecting every single detail from his black rubber bracelets to his silver ear studs.
Sungmin wanted to thank the stylist-noona who gave Yesung the low-cut vest to wear; she was obviously a genius! From the way the vest fitted snugly around Yesung’s body, to how it accentuated his biceps and how it exposed just a hint of his abdomen…
“Hyung, close your mouth,” Kyuhyun pointed out matter-of-factly, his hand slowly snapping Sungmin’s mouth shut.
“I know you’re merely expressing your joy at seeing Yesung-hyung in a low-cut vest, but I honestly expected you to show more class than this.” Kyuhyun drawled. He turned to look into the mirror and started touching up his hair.
“Oh, shut up!” Sungmin hissed. “I’ll have you know that I possess a fair amount of class.”
Kyuhyun’s eyebrow arched playfully. “Ah, so you’re not denying the fact that you were blatantly checking Yesung-hyung out?”
Sungmin stood up from his chair in a huff. Folding his arms crossly, he glared holes into Kyuhyun.
“I’m going to change into my clothes now,” Sungmin said with as much dignity as he could muster, and headed over to the rack of clothes. Kyuhyun chuckled silently. Really, Sungmin was so easy to read, and so much fun to tease.
-
Sungmin was still cursing Kyuhyun in his mind when all of the Super Junior members were lining up, waiting to appear on stage. So what if I thought that Yesung-hyung was attractive in that outfit? Is it a crime, Cho Kyuhyun?
Once again, he was snapped out of his reverie by Yesung’s loud voice. This time, when he turned around, he was unfortunately greeted with a less-than-stunning sight.
Yesung was whispering into Kibum’s ear and they were both laughing heartily. His eyes widened in shock when he saw that Yesung was holding Kibum’s hand.
Yesung was holding Kibum’s hand.
-
Later in the performance, Sungmin vented out his frustration through the dance. Many fans cheered wildly at his part: His hip thrusts were suddenly so forceful; he was on par with Han Geng.
-
As they went off the stage and started to prepare for their next performance, ‘Miracle’, Sungmin felt much better. Han Geng had commented on his part, saying that he had put in a lot of energy in this performance. Sungmin laughed at the Chinaman’s remark, and laughed even harder when Heechul appeared at the mere mention of ‘hip thrusts’. Heechul then smacked his butt and told him to keep up the good work.
Sungmin felt appreciative that at least some people were not trying to provoke him, deliberately or not.
-
Halfway through ‘Miracle', Sungmin’s good mood was destroyed. As Yesung and Eunhyuk went up to the front of the stage to sing their parts, Yesung pulled Eunhyuk into a tight hug. Still, Sungmin had a performance to finish, so he plastered a fake, cheery smile on his face. He kept an unbelievably tight grip on his microphone throughout the performance though.
-
When the members finally reached their dorm after a long day, Sungmin retired to his bedroom straightaway. He was so tired and so confused with his behavior earlier. Why did it bother him when he saw Yesung holding hands with Kibum? Why was he angry when Yesung hugged Eunhyuk during the performance? Eunhyuk was his best friend, for goodness sake, while Yesung was…
Truth be told, he didn’t know what Yesung was to him. Being around Yesung made him so self-conscious and nervous. He was uncomfortable with the effect the elder had on him.
Short of asking Mr. Bunny, his rabbit plush toy, on what he ought to do, Sungmin decided to go to the one person he knew he could trust with this.
-
“Leeteuk-hyung! Are you busy?” Sungmin knocked on the door of the leader’s shared room with Donghae.
He heard a bed creak and hurried footsteps approaching the door. Soon, Leeteuk peeped out from behind the door, his eyes sparkling with concern.
“Sungmin, what brings you here? Do you need anything from me?” Leeteuk asked; his tone vastly different from Yesung’s.
“H-hyung, can I talk to you? Please?” Sungmin asked timidly.
“Of course you can,” Leeteuk responded gently, flashing a dimpled smile.
Leeteuk ushered Sungmin into the room and gestured to his bed, indicating to Sungmin that he should sit down. Sungmin sat down on the edge of his bed. Leeteuk then went to lock the door and after ensuring that he had done so, Leeteuk scurried over to Sungmin’s side. Placing his hands warmly on Sungmin’s own hands, he asked, “So what is it that you need to talk about to me?”
“Well...” Sungmin started uncertainly. “Hyung, have you ever felt so uncomfortable around another person that you’re so self-conscious about your actions around him?”
Leeteuk’s eyebrows furrowed worriedly. “You haven’t quarreled with anyone, have you Sungmin?”
“No no no, it’s nothing of that sort!” Sungmin shook his head furiously. He then stared at his lap, for he was embarrassed and somewhat ashamed of what he was going to say next.
“Hyung, have you ever been so ignorant to your own feelings towards someone? Like, only after a long time, you’ve finally realized how much that person affects you, and how much he really means to you?”
“Hyung, am I a bad person?” Sungmin looked up at Leeteuk helplessly.
Leeteuk tapped his chin thoughtfully. “Sometimes, you don’t realize how much you appreciate something until it’s gone-“
“He’s not gone, hyung!” Sungmin interjected.
“Ah, I’m sorry! I phrased it wrongly.” Leeteuk shifted slightly so that he couid face Sungmin directly. “What I meant to say is that, sometimes, we’re so used to certain things or certain people that we don’t realize how much they mean to us. Opening your eyes a little late doesn’t make you a bad person, Sungmin.”
“It doesn’t?” Sungmin looked hopeful.
“Of course not! It just makes you an ignorant one.”
“Hyung!” Sungmin cried out exasperatedly.
“I’m kidding, I’m kidding!” Leeteuk let out his signature laugh. After sobering up considerably fast, he turned back to Sungmin.
“Sungmin, it’s possible that you like this person. It’s only around this person that you start being all self-conscious, right? Usually, it’s because you have feelings for the person.”
“Well, Min. Do you have feelings for this person?” Leeteuk asked him seriously.
“I-I suppose I do,” Sungmin admitted shyly.
“Then tell him!”
“But what he doesn’t like me?” Sungmin burst out. “What if it’s too late?” Sungmin looked at Leeteuk anxiously.
“You’ll never know until you try, right? Sure, if you don’t confess, nothing will happen. But your relationship with him will stay stagnant. Do you want that to happen, Sungmin?”
Sungmin stayed silent. Leeteuk reached over and squeezed his hand encouragingly.
“I’m behind you all the way!” Leeteuk declared.
Sungmin smiled tremulously and went to give his hyung a big bear hug. He blinked back the hot tears that had been threatening to spill out.
“Thank you hyung,” He choked out, lip trembling slightly.
“Go get him, Sungmin-ah!”
