Note : Day Seven!

Ohno didn’t realize it first - he thought it was normal to touch a person and be flooded with memories that weren’t his own - but after the many times he’d found himself in trouble because of it, he figured it would be much better not to flaunt it.

But it didn’t mean that he would stop using his ability because even if he wanted to, he couldn’t. There was just no way to turn it off, after all, so he had to live with the fact that he’d be able to share someone else’s thoughts, memories and experiences with just a simple touch -and that was that.

“Slow night?” asked Jun the second he was seated comfortably on the stool and effectively taking Ohno’s attention away from his musings. There were still unfinished drawings on his table but he was too distracted to continue them, shrugging as he put his pen down at the same time he was reaching down to grab his hand gloves, carefully putting it on, one after the other.

“You’re still trying to be careful around me, huh?” Jun chuckled, pointing at Ohno’s gloves with his lips. Ohno smiled.

“After that one time I almost lost several of my teeth for accidentally touching you and unintentionally finding out about your little, girly crush on me when we first met, I think I have learned my lesson,” he said, only half-joking because they both know it was true. Jun scowled, but Ohno couldn’t be fooled as the corners of Jun’s mouth twitched involuntarily as if he was trying to suppress a smile and was failing at it.

“It was long time ago! Give it a rest already, god,” Jun whined, but at least this time he was no longer trying to keep himself from smiling. “Anyway, enough bringing those embarrassing memories up, and listen.” Jun said, tapping his fingers on one of Ohno’s sketchbooks spread in front of them.

Ohno stared expectantly at him. “I found you a client,” Jun said after a beat.

Ohno’s heart stuttered unceremoniously in his chest. “I’m guessing that particular client isn’t looking for an amateur artist to draw his face or his dick on paper?” he joked, knowing for certain that wasn’t the case here.

Jun shook his head, the line of his unsmiling mouth was serious. “Nope,” Jun said, “this client contacted me personally. Said, and I quote, I need to find a missing person, an heir, to be exact and a trusted friend told me you can do the job without the hassles of putting the details of it on national television or in newspapers at a certain price,”

Ohno shrugged, not even the slightest bit surprised. This wasn’t the first case he and Jun worked on ever since they’ve decided to put up this tiny art studio to cover up the fact that they specialized on something entirely different behind it.  Certainly not, but somehow, Ohno knew, judging with how Jun’s expression remained unchanged, this was different.

“Okay, Jun-kun, I’m listening,” he said.

Jun leaned forward, resting his arms on Ohno’s drawing table, eyes unusually bright.

“Three hundred million Yen, Ohno-san,” Jun grumbled, “this guy is willing to pay a fortune to find one missing boy,” Jun added, “Can you even believe that?”

He could, but only because he knew how far people could go in order to find something important to them. Ohno learned the hard way that such things sometimes didn’t end up well. For him or for his clients, but even so, he still had to do it.

“Are you sure?”

“Yep,” Jun agreed quite readily, “You know who this client’s trusted friend is?” Jun asked; Ohno didn’t answer, he didn’t think he should. “Aiba-kun.” Jun said. Ohno frowned. Aiba-kun?

Jun rapped his fingers against the tabletop again. “Yep, Aiba-kun; who would think that that idiot ended up befriending a millionaire’s right-hand or whatever that person’s job is, I will never understand but then again, if there is anyone who would, it would be that idiot.” Jun said, though he sounded more than a little fond even while he was repeatedly insulting Aiba. “Anyway, Aiba-kun told me that this client once bought every single animal in the shop just because his employer thought they were lonely, staying there in their cage. Said they bought them on a whim and were immediately sent to this forest in the Philippines the same night,”

Impressive, Ohno thought. “Alright, so,” he paused, considering his words carefully, “why didn’t they do it sooner, finding this heir like immediately after he apparently got lost? If they’re obviously filthy rich?” he asked.

Jun stared at him as if the other man knew he would ask this. “They couldn’t,” Jun said, his voice grave.

“But why?” now it was Ohno’s turn to be confused.

“Because,” Jun said then paused, possibly for effect and Ohno would never not be amused at Jun’s fondness with the dramatics. “they thought he was dead. At least until three months ago when the Empire’s president asked to dig the place where they buried him because that’s where the president wanted to be buried. Along with his grandson,”

“And guess what,” Jun said, grinning now.

“Grave’s empty,” Ohno breathed.

“Bingo.”

Ohno’s mind was spinning, but he couldn’t deny the fact that this was one job he wouldn’t mind taking.

He grinned back. “So, whose hand do I have to touch this time to find out the heir’s whereabouts? His nanny? Is she even alive?”

Jun clicked his tongue. “Nope,” Jun said. “It’s the President himself.”

“Fuck, what?”
