Ember is 2.5 weeks old already. When I was pregnant and out of work the weeks dragged, but now that she's here... yikes! I have to go back to work in 3.5 weeks

Presley has this issue and she developed it around 3 weeks. I cut dairy out for the most part and I give her gripe water. I also massage her belly after eating and pump her legs. It seems, also, that sucking helps her pass gas or poop. Our ped says she's just learning to work her rectal muscles and if she seems to be really straining/upset to insert the rectal thermometer (have a diaper ready) and that should help her poop. I did it a few times but I didn't know how far to go so it didn't work. She was bothered by me violating her at all. I used vaseline also. Worth a shot. Also, if Em likes warms baths, those helped Presley relax and poop too.
Lennon did that too with the getting upset before pooping. I've read that it's because it feels strange to them and they don't like it. Her digestive parts are brand new and still getting used to having food/poop in them and she's feeling a lot of new feelings she's never had! Lennon chilled out after about a month with that.
