I haven't written anything substantial in my live journal in a long time. Right now I'm thinking about how sad it is that microsoft word sometimes automatically corrects your spelling. The Doomsday Book by Connie Willis. American Gods or Anansi Boys (one is fascinating, the other I haven't read but apparently it's funny) by Neil Gaiman. Invisible Monsters by Chuck Palahniuk (probably the best bet for something enjoyable/ insane).

This makes me realize how little I've read that's actually not for school in the past few years. Good luck finding something you will enjoy. Also, I think I'd like to see the documentary about you, so I think I'm going to have to remember to come.

my suggestion is any book by a man named Haruki Murakami, specifically "Norwegian Wood" or "Kafka on the Shore"

he's an amazing writer. he has these funny/weird western pop culture references mixed with metaphysical/existentialist/absurdist messages...its crazy

despite how funny he is though, all his books have these undertones of lonelyness and loss (ESPECIALLY Norwegian Wood, which is supposedly autobiographical). kafka on the shore is reeeaaallly bizarre and reeeaally metaphysical and funny, and Norwegian Wood is very very...bittersweet, i guess is the word.

you should try anything by him, cause it's all really good, but those are my two favorites.
