News & Notes - GACKT World Trip Round Up Vol.1

Since Gakuensai and GACKT's 44th Birthday earlier this month, there hasn't been much in the way of news or happenings in the GACKT World. This is largely due to GACKT being on, what he calls a "World Trip."
It started in Las Vegas, as he and TAKUMI took part in the World Series of Poker. They didn't have much success in the main event, but GACKT had some success in some side events.

After Las Vegas, TAKUMI flew to South Korea to take part in another poker tournament with Val. GACKT missed his flight out of Las Vegas, won a jackpot on a slot machine in the airport, and then went to Los Angeles for a brief stay.

Then, GACKT spent several days in New York. He went to Times Square, the Empire State Building (and waxed poetic about his old crush Meg Ryan and Sleepless in Seattle), and also Ground Zero. He also got the screen on his phone fixed properly, and bought several jackets from Dolce & Gabbana (that's been a theme of his trip so far)

GACKT is currently in London. He's impressed by the look of the city, and how the historical buildings have been maintained, despite the modern city. So far he's eaten some good food, been amazed at finding a barber's shop inside Dolce & Gabbana, and complained a lot about the cold.

While GACKT has been on his world trip, he's posted a few photos in a "date series." They all have the caption on Instagram (in Japanese only) saying that they can be used to show that you're on a date with your boyfriend (ie, GACKT's the boyfriend, and you're the one taking the photo of your date together.)

As said earlier, TAKUMI and Val were playing poker at the Poker Stars Festival Korea. Val did fantastically well, and came fifth in the main event.

One small bit of news, is that the next batch of Gakucchi goods that will be in crane games in amusement arcades have been announced. These will be available towards the end of August.
